“After finishing my exhibition at BACC "Landlords" in 2018, I wanted to do a new work differently; not street photography that I was familiar with.”

Akkara Naktamna a member of Street Photo Thailand, founder and editor of an e-magazine called CTypeMag, a full-time software engineer and a father of an active girl. His project “Demonic” touches on quite a controversial subject of Thai Buddhist society. In 2018, there was an exposé of a scandalous corruption inside the office of National Buddhism. In addition to improper behaviors of both ’fake’ monks and real respectable monks. These issues were in the dark, live peacefully under the holy yellow robes; only a few float to the surface.

This project stabs right to the heart of these issues. “I don't want to just speak out to someone or post a shallow comment on social media because no one would remember.” His images speaks the hard cold truth and criticizing the issue that has been going on in Thai Buddhist society. It triggers doubts in our heart of what we believe in and who we believe in. “I decided to express my criticism through this project, so that it can go down in history for people to learn and memorize that these issue came to be in our society.”
